Lunchtime Supervision

The time spent together at lunchtime is an important part of an unforgettable ski school experience: The children get to know their “friends” and grow closer as a group.

The younger children (Bambini through Group 2) eat at the Alp Trida mountain restaurant. Older children (Group 3 and up) are supervised at the Sattel Panorama restaurant. There’s a different menu every day. Lunch supervision takes place from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. and can be booked as an add-on.

Important: Does your child have a food intolerance? Just let us know in advance—we’ll be happy to accommodate it.

Ski Race with an Awards Ceremony

Every Friday, the children show off their skiing skills on the race course. As they put on their race numbers—and certainly by the time they reach the starting line—the excitement builds. Of course, all racers are honored with a commemorative medal, and the fastest ones also get to take home gold, silver, or bronze.

Note: For data protection reasons, we no longer publish the results online—on race day, the children will learn their rankings directly on site.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ski Lessons

Age & Getting Started

At what age can children start taking ski lessons?

Ages 3 and up. For younger children, we recommend the introductory course (ages 2½ and up). For snowboard courses, we recommend a minimum age of 7—however, children may be younger for private lessons.

What if the group I choose isn't a good fit for my child's abilities?

No problem—you can easily switch at any time; our ski instructors will take care of it for you.

Equipment & Safety

Is wearing a helmet required?

Overall, the risk of injury is low for children. However, the head is most at risk when using lifts and other equipment or in the event of a fall—which is why we strongly recommend wearing a helmet.

What should I keep in mind when choosing clothes?

Warm, water-repellent, and breathable clothing that allows for good range of motion. Pants should be long enough to prevent snow from getting into your ski boots.

What is the best sunscreen to use?

A good pair of ski goggles, as well as sunscreen and lip balm with a sun protection factor of at least 30.

Does my child need ski poles?

Poles are not required in the Kids' Area. Starting in Group 4 (when children can ski the plow turn confidently), please have your child bring their own poles.

What equipment does my child need for snowboarding?

A snowboard and matching boots—you can rent both at ZEGG Sport & Mode.

Prices, Ski Passes, and Additional Services

Is the ski pass included in the course price?

No. Children under 10 years of age ski for free when accompanied by an adult; everyone else needs their own ski pass. You can find the current rates on Samnaun’s official ski pass website.

How much does the lunch program cost?

CHF 18.– per day, including meals, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The younger children (Bambini through Group 2) eat at the Alp Trida mountain restaurant, while the older children (Group 3 and up) eat at the Sattel Panorama restaurant.

How do I report a food intolerance?

The easiest way is to let us know when you make your reservation or at the ski school office.

How much does the pickup service cost?

CHF 3.– per day for half-day courses, CHF 6.– per day for full-day and Snow Riders courses. The shuttle runs between Samnaun Village and Samnaun-Compatsch and can be selected as an add-on when booking online.
